There is a great study by Penny Simkin that Laura Hart's OB should read.
It showed that women remember their birth experiences in exquisite detail,
for at least 30 years. "Just another day in a Woman's Life? Women's Long Term
Perceptions of Their First Birth Experience" Simkin in the journal Birth
(1991) 18:4.
