Okay, I wasn't going to answer because I was lazy.

But look, I always find that people who come down on finger feeding have
never tried it. They also don't have a clue how to use it. The primary
purpose of finger feeding is to get the baby to take the breast. Thus, the
nurses don't have to do it, they have the mothers' do it and then help the
mothers get the baby to latch on.

What do I find when a baby finger feeds? The baby often has a very
disorganized suck, but as the baby starts getting something with the finger
feeding, he wraps his tongue around the finger and starts to suck just like
the videos or diagrams of Woolridge.

So why not try it? I have demonstrated frequently in the clinic to
observers, babies who wouldn't go near the breast, then latch on after 30
seconds of finger feeding.

There is just too much of this, "well, I don't think it'll work, so I won't
try it".
