There have been cases of CJ disease in childbearing age women, and even in
teenagers. See the website Kathleen Bruce posted to LactNet yesterday for
more information about this "new variant" Creutzfeld-Jacob Disease, known as
nvCJD. CJ disease has been identified in a number of mammal species and
recently in birds.
