Dear Nikki, I strongly disagree with your statement re: not stooling for
nearly 2 weeks after clearing mec.  No way I wouldn't be scrambling for an
answer. I do agree that there are lots of parameters to be looking at in a
newborn, but stooling is right up there in the top level.

DeCarvalho(1985) did measurements of stool in first 3 days.  he was
concentrating on excretion of bilirubin.  He doesn't mention amount, but
the way the study reads I'm sure they have the data somewhere.Boyer (1987)
mentions attempting to save and weigh stool, but had problems getting all
samples.  And I'm sure if we went digging we would find some specific
studies on ranges of actual amounts.
