Tea bags, as a source of tannic acid, have been around since year one I
think. I first heard it at LLL meetings 30 + years ago. Personally I
prefer normal saline, easier to obtain in hospital and reports of as equal
relief as tea bags. (Sounds more "nursey" anyhow :-)
Some moms get sore/tender, no matter how well they position. Soaks seem to
help in the immediate postpartum. Actually I have recommended saline soaks
weeks out with good results as to quick healing and pain relief. Oh yes,
fix positioning, thrush, suck and use an emollient too. Sincerely, Pat in
