If the numbers given are correct...
38 inches is 50% ile for age 3 1/2
and
54 lbs is 50 % ile for age 7 1/2.
Is this child just 2 or closer to 3?
Other history would be helpful, like...
development - were motor and speech skills timely?
was the child hypotonic or failure to thrive early on?
does the child have big feet? tiny feet?
is this child obsessed with eating?
when did the child start to be big? birth, year and a half?
What did dad's or uncle's growth curve look like?
It would be helpful to "test weigh" for a feed or 2 - I doubt mom is making
"hi-test" breastmilk - is the child consuming an inordinate amount? [a
gallon a day?] What is the calorie count of the rest of the foods?
There's actually a few genetic conditions that could explain this.
