PLEASE answer privately:
I have been asked to give recommendations to staff members who have spent a
lot of time working with breastfeeding moms, are RNs and RDs, and would
like to take a course towards the 30 credits that they need for the IBCLC
test they want to take in the next couple of years.
These are people who have been helping moms for years, kept up to date in
their reading, and I think would do great as IBCLCs. I would appreciate
help in giving them suggestions - CLE? CLC? Whose course seems
appropriate?
I would like them to go to a course that would add to their knowledge
rather than a basic course. Their bosses want them to get some sort of
"certification" at the end - to justify the budget expense...
As I have never taken any of these courses, I would appreciate hearing from
those who have.
