Well if the truth be told, I agree somewhat myself. My point really is
that not all babies are really ready for what they are grabbing at.
Many babies will put anything in their mouth as soon as they have
mastered some hand eye coordination. This doesn't mean they are really
ready for solids or all liquids for that matter. Hasn't it been
discussed here for instance how damaging whole cows milk can be for an
infant's intestines when started too early? Hard and fast rules aren't
great for any baby or family, IMO. Common sense is, however, it is
often also in short supply.
