<< Mother has been advised to eliminate dairy. Baby has been
referred to a gastroenterologist. The physician is also concerned about
reflux. Mother is concerned she may be advised to discontinue breastfeeding.
She was not successful breastfeeding her first child. Growth and
development are on track for this baby. She asked if there were other things
she could elininate from her diet. I reviewed allergens. >>
I hope someone more knowledgeable about the meds responds, since it doesn't
seem cooincidental and they would certainly impact gut health, but I wondered
if mom has been given explicit info about elimination of all dairy sources.
Also, when I discuss allergens, I usually go over the most common allergens,
the allergens of other immediate family members *and* the foods mom relied on
during pregnancy, as those often turn out to be problematic.
