If we examine the effect of a personality on age of
weaning, we need to look at mom's personality as well. Her
personality and attitudes matter in how the relationship
works and the value it has.
Haven't there been past studies that show that women who
nurse for comfort nurse longer than those who think of it
as only food?
While there appears to be a connection between early
weaning and pacifiers, haven't I read that babies dealing
with over-abundant supplies are more likely to suck fingers
or pacifiers because they cannot comfort suck at the
breast? So mother's supply may overide everyone's
personality.
Weaning is so complex. I can't imagine labeling all the
influences. Pam Easterday LLLL
