Our Lactation Consortium will also host Robin Glass and Lynn Wolf for an
Advanced Practice program in March. In working with these ladies I can tell
you they are, indeed, occupational therapists who work in a children's
hospital in Seattle. Those of our membership who have heard them urged that
we invite them for the "advanced practice" members of our group. You are
right, they are not lactation specialists but do have a wealth of knowledge
that can help consultants working with babies with suck & swallow problems.
They are certainly NOT sponsored by a formula company for our program. The
speakers do limit the audience to 100 people which, for those who have put on
a conference will understand, explains the "expensive" registration fee.
Participants do receive a large syllabus and "hands-on" attention from the
speakers plus case studies which will include breastfeeding babies.
From what I have heard, you had better register early before all places are
gone.
