Here in NW Washington State we have had a good year for yellowjackets
and bald-faced hornets (Dolichovespula maculata).  I've received lots
of calls in our office - espacially on the hornets.  Honeybee numbers
are way down due to the recent invasion by Varroa.  Other species seem
to be holding their own.
