A fellow beekeeper put for three consecutive years bees in the middle of an
area of 34 hectares of rapeseed (no other nectar plants in the
neighbourhood). Each time he noted that the honey he harvested crystallized
slowly, was dark and did not have the taste of rape honey.

Does anyone know if the rape variety may play a role in the taste of the
honey? Or are there other factors that may cause this phenomenon?

Kind regards,

Ghislain De Roeck,
Belgium.
