I learned almost exactly a year ago that the then favorite Commercial Beekeeper SHB control method of choice is a cockroach bait with duct tape around the access holes so that only a SHB can get in. 1-2 per hive, slid in the front entrance on the bottom board. As the bees chase the SHB, they enter the trap/bait. I know that the Commercial guys have to make a living, and that the SHB is a terrible pest, but for this to be a widespread practice throughout the southern US and Calif. and for queens and packaged bees to be produced on comb from such hives is just too much... But I don't have any 'solutions' to offer. Lloyd -- Lloyd Office/Honey House 518-370-4989 Cell 518-573-8246 Lloyd Spear Beekeeper Inc. Ross Rounds Inc.
