Hi All, We notice these days that our best honey producers often crash pretty hard a couple of months after the flow, as opposed to other colonies in the yards. I've attributed this phenomenon to the sudden increase in relative mite infestation rate due to post-flow bee population decrease. However, I can't remember whether we used to observe this phenomenon prior to the arrival of varroa. Do any of you old timers remember, or do you varroa-free Aussie beekeepers experience the same phenomenon? -- Randy Oliver Grass Valley, CA www.ScientificBeekeeping.com *********************************************** The BEE-L mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software.
