>>It is this relative non toxicity to mammals

I checked out IMD at this site:

http://sitem.herts.ac.uk/aeru/footprint/en/Reports/397.htm

Property Value Source/Quality Score/Other Information/Interpretation

Honeybees - Acute 48 hour LD50 (µg bee-1) 0.0037 A5 Oral High

Mammals - Acute oral LD50 (mg kg-1) 131 A5 Mice Moderate

since IMD can be injected into maples and other trees in suburbia where my bees forage. IMD is highly toxic to bees and moderately toxic to mammals [although in much higher amount]. Certainly nothing to fool around with.

What I would like to know if IMD is present in maple (and other) tree nectar and in what amount after the trees are injected with IMD. Anybody have any references?

Waldemar
