Just a couple of administrative points
to clean up.
First and foremost, the list is for “discussion”
and not “advertisement”. If you want to put your company name and
address in your tag line, that’s one thing. But to offer goods and
services using the list is a major faux pas! So please keep the posts
professional. There will be some “advertising”, if you want to
call it that, but it will be notices for Safety Council events and information
and not for goods and services.
Second, the post you originally saw from
Amy was a post sent by me to test the list last week, before anyone but the
steering committee was signed on. We had to test the various formats in
setting up the initial list configuration. You were never intended to receive
that post, and thus, need not check-in with the list. If you’re reading
this post, then you have full subscriber rights and may enter the discussion as
you wish.
Lastly, when posting, if you use “Reply”
in your mail reader, your post will only return to the sender. If you use “Reply
All”, your post will go to everyone. The way to tell is to ensure the
address [log in to unmask]
is one of the addresses if you wish to reply to the list. If you have a reply
you think is relevant to everyone, by all means, use “Reply All”.
I realize there has been a lot of “nonsense
posts” in the past two days, but that’s to be expected in the
beginning of a list. Please be patient as others learn how to use the format. If
the traffic seems a bit much, the list administrators can help you set your
account so you only receive one post a day, with either all of the traffic or
just the subject lines. Let us know.
