Dear Dan: I don't know of anyone looking at pollination in Papaya.
Certainly the question is interesting, as pointed out by Herbert
Baker. I shall be in Malaysia early next year and will then have
a chance to take a look. However, I have not encountered some of
the morphs of the plants there. I have, however, seen a greater
array of types in the Maldives and I may look when I am there, after
Malaysia.

I expect that you already know of the untimely death of Irene Baker.
I was most shocked by the news. Both she and Herbert seemed in good
health at the AIBS meetings in Toronto in August. We have lost a
very special friend.

Peter.
