WELCOMING NEW IDEAS

Dear Friends,
In a time of growing changes and innovations for culture, it is
important to help many of our fellow researchers in the humanities
overcome their sense of isolation. Communication is now more necessary
than ever to keep alive the community of students and scholars.
Despite the remarkable innovations in anthropological and
archeological research concepts, the winds of war, pandemic, economic
recession, and other calamities, dominate the minds of many people. We
share the burden of those who are personally sadly involved. All of
us are deeply concerned as we should be. But, favoring the interest
in positive thinking and in humanistic issues is a must! The many
misfortunes should not stop the creative ability of colleagues and
friends, while persisting in learning, teaching and doing research.
And it is necessary, now, to maintain contact with them, also with
those living and working in silence, often in isolation, in various
corners of the World.
They are part of our big family, of people devoted to the human
sciences. Even some retired colleagues could still share their
knowledge and wisdom if encouraged to persist in being active, as we
are doing. But younger students and scholars should be protagonists
both, in research and in keeping communication alive.
Overcoming loneliness is important not only for scholars working in
faraway lands, but also for those conceptually isolated in crowded
urban centers. A revitalization of the human sciences starts from the
wish of the actors to share their passion for their own research. Let
we work together to make academia overcome the boundaries of its
ghettos.
If you have something to say, be open, participate in the debates,
promote new information, share your knowledge, your ideas, and your passion.
Join the efforts in promoting a healthy renewal in
conceptual involvement, and in keeping alive the professional
dialogue. Submissions of articles are gladly considered. But even just
expressing ideas, asking questions, proposing topics for debates, will
contribute to awakening interest and uniting colleagues and friends
from over 85 countries, in sharing common interests.
Enclosed is an issue of the EXPRESSION quarterly journal. If you wish
to receive this journal for free for one year, please confirm to
[log in to unmask] , specifying "EXPRESSION free annual
subscription" , your name, country and email.
And if you have something to say, you are welcome to join the over
250 authors of EXPRESSION.
It would be a pleasure to hearing from you,
Cordial regards and best wishes,
Alisa
