Well, I must apologise. Those PF100s were indeed waxed. This morning,
I came across one that was not yet placed in a hive and examined it more
closely. It does have a wax coating. So, I guess that evens things out.

I had not considered the question of waxing to be particularly important
back when I originally reported and frankly had not noticed the wax as
it is uneven and only on the embossed surfaces.

I did recall that the Pierco were wax dipped as there was wax
on the top bars and a strong smell of wax. Moreover Nick told me that
he was dipping them in Canadian wax specially for the Canadian order.

In contrast, I think the PF100s were sprayed and the wax was less obvious.

FWIW, this is not my first experience with small cell foundation. Dee
sent me some of a first batch many years ago.
