>Excuse me. I found this use of the term Yankee to be offensive.

The term is common in the south and you are the first person I ever heard of
take offense.

Perhaps the old song "proud to be a Yankee Doodle Dandy" made the term
stick. In the south the term Yankee refers to all but native Floridians.

Even though I spend time in the south every year since I grew up and moved
the name Yankee or Yank is applied to me. I am not a snowbird but sometimes
thought of as a snowbird when they see my Missouri truck plates.

Native Floridians are referred to as Crackers. Same in Georgia.

I am on the road many times a year. Meeting people. None of the above offend
people I meet.
I think John Wayne said it best:

"Smile when you say that Pilgrim"

I was smiling when I used the word.

Sure would like to see those figures on neonic profits and attempts to get
widespread use of neonics into the almonds (rumor or not?). Published
figures for Bayer lobbying over four years ago was over 50 million.

Hopefully I will get time to find and post on BEE-L.
