Having installed my first bees on May 3, I feel like a new parent wondering
what to do next. I gave each colony approximately 6l of syrup for feeding.
When I opened the hive May 4 to see if the queens had been released (they
hadn't) I was surprised that the pails of syrup were still full. Will the
bees take a day or two to settle down before feeding or are they worried
about releasing the queen first? Could it be weather realted. The weather
on May 3 was sunny, 13C and no wind. May 4 was sun and cloud, 20C and 20km
south wind. So many questions and so little time.
