I would point out that many of us who contribute a lot (constantly?) are benefitting immensely. I gain from the fact that the discussions go in very different directions than one would anticipate. The responses to various topics lead to other topics and/or other points of view. 

I see the forum as a way to get a broader perspective than I would have if I just kept my bees, hung out with local beekeepers, and read the Bee Magazines. Everyone can find something to gripe about how it goes or doesn't go. What I find frustrating is that there are some topics that just don't get going at all. 

I asked a few weeks ago for more info from people who are actually keeping African bees. Silence ensued. The video link I posted leads to a discussion of Weaver hybrids from 2010. In it, Danny Weaver calmly announces that his stock is part African. These bees have been sold all over the US. It appears that the cat is really out of the bag, now.
