    I spoke with the researcher, David Inouye, today. He said he began
gathering his data in 1973. He has colleagues where he works at the
University of Maryland who have been gathering data starting from about the
same time in the Washington DC area. He said their data showed that at lower
altitudes, plants were appearing and flowering sooner.
