food for bees after all. It requires extensive processing on their part to
make it digestible. Like termites, they require gut flora to convert
indigestible material into something they can use.

If we add to this requirement of processing the fact of extensive use of
fungicides, then we have at the end a truncated process. Maybe lots of
pollen in the frames but not much food available.
