Hi everyone

Thanks for all your worries and comunications. Thanks to all who wrote and
particularly to my friend Peter Detchon who phoned last night and wrote to
the list.

Over my place the quake was 7.5 . Very shaky at 3:40 AM of saturday. No
problems at home, family, dogs, rabbits, chicken, ducs even bees ok ok.

All the hives were on the ground, felt down from the stands. We manage to
work early on saturday so damage was minimun. Next two days temp on the
40'sºC

i have manage to talk to most of the colleagues in my area and apart from
the hives on the ground, they are ok ok. Lat -39º south no much problem.

From Lat -33º to 38º big mess, particularly near the coast. The images on
the TV now that electricity came back are impresive. this was a cataclism,
and earthquake 8.8 plus a tsunami. Waves between 15 and 60 meters high. The
ocean up to 1 km inland. Everything destroyed.

We spend two days without electricity and water supply. No internet either.

We help the community with our trucks and uts carrying drinking water till
we run out of petrol. With the return of electricity we manage to get more
petrol. Autorithy says we have petrol supply for the next week or so.

It will rain tomorrow, the day after tomorrow and next sunday and monday.
This will be a big problem for all the people that lost their houses.

The government didn't react in time. Great social unrest in the area of
disaster. Now some 10000 militares guarding the nights on the mayor cities.
Concepción a real mess.

Many containers in Talcahuano port are now in the city. Owfull smell cause
the decomposing fish inland.

Difficult time for the country, lots of logistical problems ahead.

The warehouse (bodega) of two mayor honey exporters suffer big damage. some
500 tons of honey on the floor.

Ulmo starting to flower but no honey yet in the supers.

What a difficult season. Hard life in the cold tropics ...
