Well, now, if someone asked me whether systemic insecticides would occur at the same, higher or lower rate in small and large plants, I would not have had a clue. The same, I might have guessed.

But the point is, nobody looked until these honey bee researchers did. And found that the rate is less in bigger plants, which means bigger better raised plants are safer for pollinators. 

This is not the same as yield, however, and farmers may plant them crowded to increase per acre yield. Obviously, there is an optimum planting rate, which has to be worked out.
