    Possibly a  missunderstanding here, chances are the cracks are well 
sealed with propolis. Anyhow little is said about evaporational cooling that 
takes place through the wood. It can be substantial, especially if exposed 
to wind. The condensation observed most likely comes from inside in any case 
if it is outside it hould be of little cosiquence (IMO). Keep in mind 
nonbreathing styrofoam supers are used with great success!
