Hi All, perhaps I should have been more circumspect when I posted the
above.  Allow me please to reword.

There have been reports from beekeepers in both Europe and North America
that some colonies crash shortly after systemic-treated corn or sunflower
come into bloom.  However, I have seen scant evidence that the neonics are
directly a problem.  However, a recent paper gives a plausible reason why
such a phenomenon might occur if the colonies were already infected with
Nosema ceranae.
