reference the imirie shim, I cut another slot in the opposite side of the
wood which puts it in front and
the back.  I put it on my hives above the innercover, and the slightest
breeze blows the heat through
the hive and lowers the internal temperatures.  In South Carolina it gets a
little hot on the top. This seems to save some cooling effort by the bees.
Can't say that I get more honey, but it has to help my
girls same.
