> Cover the pool when not in use?

That's another idea, but covering a large pool without any openings that a
bee can get into is not as easy as it might sound. It is already covered,
but only against water loss.

I was hoping for a cheap and easy trick, like a distraction or a repellent.
This sounds a bit easier than moving 40 hives that are currently 6 or more
boxes high and full (hopefully) of honey, though.

> Easy Allen. Remember there are places in the world where they get to use
their pools for more than two weeks.

Hehehe. You've got the picture. I just filled my pool own yesterday. It's
not a big one, and there is a pond between it and the bees. So far, no bee
problems here.

Odd, you know, when I go to Southern California in the winter (that's what
they call it) and there are days like this, I find they have their pools
drained -- too cold.

At any rate, I hope you are having a better flow than some of the local
guys, The prices look good -- so far -- but that is only helpful if there
is a crop.

My bees are looking plugged. I'm having to split again.
