"The sun and moon's impact is only one 5-millionth of the force of Earth's own gravitational impact at Earth's surface. This is going to be swamped out by the local variations in "apparent gravity" of about 7% of the total as the Earth is not equally dense everywhere, nor is it a perfect sphere."

Well, Jim, all us females...meaning females of many of the animal species on the planet... know that the Moon matters. We are very much attuned to the moon's gravitational field...indeed, it is our Zeitgeber.

So....the Earth's surface gravitation doesn't matter to us, except that it keeps us from falling off the planet. Regional differences in the Earth's gravitational field don't matter either, because we can only be one place at a time, as individuals. However, amazingly, we can individually sense and respond to the Moon's field, and it governs our biologically-relevant interest in reproducing. And on top of that, we act as a cohort....girls synchronize. (Did you guys know that??)

And if you are saying that women have too large of a mass, relative to the bees, so that they are more influenced by the moon...while bees aren't so heavy, and aren't influenced...well, watch out there. Who's calling us fat!!??

Go figure. Maybe that's partly why men don't understand women.

Christina
