One of their summary bullet points on the main page is:
"Ten percent [of US farms] collected 75 percent of all subsidies."

It does not take much imagination to discern what sort of entities own and
run that top 10 of farms with the largest acreages who can get that 75% of
the subsidies.

James, normally I love your writing, but this one is cherry picking that
would make Lu envious. First off the chart you reference convientely
stops in 2012, with no 2013 data available. AS of 2013 corn subsidies are
literally gone, as corn prices actual rose enough to get above poverty
level.

The CRP you reference is no 4 on the list,

But whats even more interesting is you don't cite any data on how much
acreage those 10 percent farm. Much like the tax base where the top 1% pay
47% of the taxes.

You will find that the numbers don't even come close to telling the real
story. Like how much property taxes those 10% pay, or what size farms they
run.
I was surprised a few year ago, when a certain member or our community
showed up in that list, he got almost 300K in payments. But he farms 8000
acres plus, employs over 2 dozen people, and pays right at 270k a year in
property taxes.....

Don't distort things so far we doubt your credibility......Please..

Charles
