Peter, I asked a researcher deeply involved in viral analysis.  He strongly
suspects contamination in the early samples, esp since they were all
positive.

I agree with Pete Borst's assessment, and have spent the past few days
struggling through the DWV studies published in the past few years--heavy
reading...
