Morning folks,

The very small honey producers will have to increase the price of honey to
overcome the $1000.00 fees. Most of the keepers with 50 or less hives will
have a very large increase in prices.
If a beek with 50 hives makes 6 gallons per hive, (72 pounds), 300 gallons
total, his price will have to increase at least $3.33 per gallon just to
recoup the $1000.00 fee. There will also be other expenses involved.
I do not have a problem with inspections, just the added cost. I would like
for all beekeepers honey houses to be inspected and meet certain conditions.
We all like to point fingers at foreign producers and want their product
checked. Lets get ours up to standards, then get the others to do the same.
Somewhere down the line there will have to be a clause to exempt people who
sell directly to the consumer without any type middleman.

Lionel
