in that case you would find it difficult to overwinter in my configuration with only 75 lbs. total weight after the fall flow, and that is why you have to have double deeps.

it does seem intuitive that reversing too soon, especially if there was still a dome of capped honey in the top box before reversing, would get them crowded in the bottom under that honey and promote swarming.
