No, I do not.  A bigger picture is that the earth will ultimately be
destroyed as the sun comes to the end of its life, but that is not a good
reason for us to destroy what is here now - and we are doing that.

I think we are probably capable of even doing that.

Does that make it acceptable for us to trash everything in the short to
medium term, taking much of the existing life with us?
