> Question: If you filter your alcohol wash through a paper coffee filter,
does it matter how cloudy it gets?

A: I do the above, and reuse. Filter clogs up quickly.

>Was wondering if you might get better separation of mites from bees if you
had a container with two lids, one at each end of the container, and then
had a separator screen situated in the middle of the container.

Mike, your excellent questions track what i have been through. The problem
is in the little detail of removing the lower lid. When the alcohol and
mites gush out, you may lose mites all over the table. Mites on a filter
are hard to count.
