Paul, try inverting the sugar with tartáric acid.

I am not very good at biology neither chemistry, but I am very good at
mixing strange data, so forgive me for the way I will explain, I know other
will come in to correct me:

I understand that "calcium pressure" is a environmental sign that nosema
spores detect for them to define end of vegetative stage and start
prolonging their polar tube in search for bee cell to multiply. With
inverted sugar that "calcium" is precipitated therefore there is no
pressure.
