Ghislain, may I suggest that you download their supplemental data to review
the size of the "colonies" of bumblebees upon which they based their
model.  It would be very difficult for me to extrapolate the model to honey bees.

You mean, that the "colonies" never had more than 20 bees? The experiment went for 42 days. The bees were never allowed to fly. Isn't this a bit like simulating a hurricane by putting fans around the bathtub and studying the effect on a fleet of toy boats?
