I'm suprised there's no suitable wood glue available locally.
 
Here in the UK I use a casein glue sold under the name "Cascamite"
which is suitable for general purpose use but particularly recommended
for boat building.  It seems to work well and I know many other
beekeepers use it too.  If Cascamite is not available in RSA, ask a boat
builder what wood glue he uses.
