 EXPRESSION 36

Dear colleagues and friends,
It is a pleasure to enclose a complimentary copy of EXPRESSION 36. New
discoveries emerge from the rethinking of old findings. This issue is
reconsidering traditions, myths and beliefs. A paper on the Near East
is uniting archeology, the Bible and other ancient texts for a study
in conceptual anthropology revealing elements which allow to date the
biblical exodus. An article on Europe is considering archeological
sites in connection to classical mythology. It is a contribution to
the sources of mythology. Another article is unveiling a world of
myths and beliefs in a lost corner of South America: the remains of
living sites and rock art, left behind by human communities thousands
of years ago, are offering new chapters of the history of humankind,
and new thoughts about the nature of this deeply intellectual bipedal
primate. And another article is relating images of rock art to
surviving myths of North American peoples: old traditions are
surviving as a source of identity. These and other texts, are
projections of human nature, of our own nature. And do not miss the
Discussion Forum which is proposing new and provocative debates.
This issue also includes messages addressed to students and scholars
for joining in the engagement of producing culture out of research.
Research is the core of culture and ideas must reach beyond the
boundaries of academia, involving society at large, bringing new
perspectives and new thinking in anthropology and archeology.
Enjoy reading EXPRESSION and try to participate. EXPRESSION is a world
forum connecting students and scholars in five continents.
Your comments and ideas are welcome. We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Best regards and all good wishes.
