I don't really take issue except that the number reported says there are a lot of people keeping bees with out using products.  


Glenn,  your missing Janets  very important point,   For example Solomon Parkers rate of "success" is how many are in his group * how many speaking engagements/ his income from a day job.


Most of us who are serious beekeepers,  use  lbs(or tons) of honey/ hive counts * pollination contracts * surplus bees sold.



Being able to say your treatment free with a sum totally of 14 hives,  never talking honey and catching feral swarms makes great PR,  just recall the day job is your real passion
