This is a photo another beekeeper (in GA, USA) sent me, asking for my thoughts. I've only seen A. borealis cocoons from jarred bees that Dan Harvey brought to my place. I know we have them too here in WA but I've never seen them in a hive like this. Not saying they are what killed this hive, just looking for confirmation that I'm seeing this. This looks like a heck of a lot of them.
