This made me laugh when I first heard the story on the radio news summary.
It does not seem that the wax moths eat the plastic bags, but instead, they
seem to break down the bag.
This may NOT be such a good idea, recall the "biodegradeable" plastic bags
of the 1990s, which took a large, easy to pick up object, and turned it into
an "ecological hand grenade", breaking down into irretrievable shrapnel that
went into the water and the food chain.
