The work published must be repeatable.
If there are  discrepancies found in attempts to repeat the published work
then laboratory audits are done with outside auditors following
every aspect and steps in the repeating performed, all documented.
If verified , then of course all stands.
If not, other consequences ensue.

So what were the results of any audits done?
