I would ask, who are the autocrats empowered to force arbitrary labeling changes on food producers? In the absence of evidence that GMOs are somehow hazardous to our health, these requirements are purely political. Most consumers have no clear idea of what GMOs are even about. Producers of GMO-free foods are free to specify such on their labels, but most don't bother because label changes cost money and consumers are not demanding that info.
