In UK we find that open mesh floors make top venting unnecessary as excess humidity inside the hive will always disperse. Is that not true scientifically?
Of course, if the top covers are disturbed after the bees have propolised them down - as happens when the ivy honey honey supers are removed in November - then there is a little top ventilation around the covers as it is too late for the bees to reseal.
