This study did not demonstrate the Bt was toxic to birds or directly
affected their reproductive system.

The study showed: "The fall in reproductive success was due to the
loss of mosquitoes — the birds' preferred food source."  In other words,
the Bt reduced the abundance of mosquitoes (as one would expect).  The
study did not demonstrate the birds in question were no longer abundant
or that the "fall in reproductive success" was occurring on a landscape scale.
