"I am back to beekeeping after 20+ years. Very different now than in the '70's and, as a result, I consider myself a beginner. I have learned from Allen's website and from this forum. "

I am in the same situation and have learned allot from my mentor, the local club, the archives at Bee-L and some reliable web sites. Though I had bees for over tens years in the 70’s I feel like a beginner with the problems bees face now compared to then. I had two hives back then and manage 50 now so it doesn’t even seem the same. I am seeing things I never saw before it is either the times or the number of hives. I am surprised by some of the comments in this discussion because I have asked questions and have received answers from this group and never felt someone was rolling their eyes with impatience. I have been answered thoroughly and knowledgeably and I am thankful. So if I have a question I am going to ask since I was not stung the first few times. I will just proceed with caution, it is like when the inner cover pops when you first open a hive this causes a few stings, being thoughtful from the start helps. I will try to be thoughtful and not waste time with mundane questions I would rather not be stung by humans.

Karen
